Note that the ferry service is currently not operating Poolesville is about 6 miles away from White's Ferry, via White's Ferry Road. The more direct route from the canal to Poolesville is to take Edwards Ferry Road to Westerly Road. This route is about 4.5 miles. Edwards Ferry Road crosses the trail just over 5 miles east/south of White's Ferry, at Lock 25. This is about 8 miles west of Seneca and lock 24.
