Is the Visitor's Center open the same hours as the park? Open at 8 am daily?

As you have probably found by now, the park’s website indicates that the visitor center is open from 9:00 to 5:00 daily. I must comment however that of those few times that I left the trail to ride up into the park, I have yet to find the visitor center open. Admittedly, that is a rather small sample size, but that has been my experience over the last few years.
You can always call ahead of time to make sure if it is far out of your way. The fort itself has always been open and is worth a few minutes to see.
