I am planning a trip and want to know where I can find the latest/current information on closures and trail alerts. Is there a central location/website? Is it on this comment thread? Please advise-Thanks

The GAP and C&O each have a website that cites the conditions/alerts for travel thereon. These are shown below. Updates to these sites are not instantaneous, however, so it is important to monitor forums and message boards such as this one to confirm or augment the listed conditions. Contributors to this and other forums along with the riders on the trails themselves provide the best current conditions and you would do well to check these forums and/or post questions to them as you get closer to and even during your trip.
