There is a Travelodge in Brunswick about 1.5 miles off the trail although I have not stayed there. There are not many options other than lock houses between there and DC without leaving the trail, I.e. in Potomac and Bethesda. There would be options in Leesburg if/when the Whites Ferry returns to service.
