Local new media reported today that Harpers Ferry Road across the Potomac River from Harpers Ferry will be closed for repairs soon. This is at mile marker 61.5 on the C&O Canal Towpath between Locks 33 and 34. While the towpath itself will not be affected/closed, those trying to get through there by car will be affected. A single lane is expected to be repaired by early summer for use by emergency vehicles. Completion of construction for use by the public would follow thereafter.
