My plan for June is to do a botanical survey of the Laurel Highlands region of parts of Pennsylvania and elsewhere along the trail. While this had not necessarily been my academic concentration in college field guides and specie knowledge will prove useful. To that end some of the rustic camp sites should offer entries for my journal. Ecological and ecosystem documentation continues to be necessary. Inspiration has come from the late Elzada Clover and Lois Jotter who as former University of Michigan researchers traversed the Colorado River during the early twentieth-century. Fellow adventures for sure. This trip by bike for myself, however, should prove to be not so dangerous. I welcome any thoughts.
