All you need to do is Google "horsepen Branch campsite" and the results will show multiple photographs that people have taken of the campsite. Reviewing the photographs should answer your question.

The Pedalshift Project YouTube channel provides short video clips of all the hiker/biker campsites. A link to the video for the Horsepen Branch campsite is provided below. While I have camped there a few times over my several trips to/from DC, my sleep kit does not include a hammock and thus I have not used one there. That said, this video indicates there are a couple of locations there that a hammock can be used along with tent camping.
