The GAP Trail website is reporting a future disruption in Amtrak service between Pittsburgh and Washington DC as follows:


“Amtrak has announced that its Floridian route will be disrupted and will operate only between Chicago and Pittsburgh from October 16 to 26. In other words, it will not operate any trains between Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. during that service disruption. If you’re traveling the Great Allegheny Passage in that timeframe and are seeking return transportation, inquire with one of the shuttle services listed at https://gaptrail.org/where-to-go/sites-amenities/shuttles/“
