Hi everyone,
I am writing this from Brick, N.J. and we had one of hell of a nor-easter so did it affect the trail in anyway ? did this nor-eater reach that far ?
If all is well looking to do the trail again from Washington DC to Cumberland. Starting around October 6th
Thank you for your time.

I’ll let you know in a day or so as I leave for DC tomorrow morning to begin riding back to Pittsburgh.

I spoke with a couple of riders in Pittsburgh this morning at the train station that had just finished the ride from DC. Unsurprisingly, they said the sections from Georgetown out to the beltway and from Little Orleans to Paw Paw were wet and muddy. I'll let you know what I encounter,

Indeed, there are intermittent puddles from DC to Great Falls. From there to Harper's Ferry thus far only few soft spots but no puddles.

The Towpath was dry all the way to Cumberland although rain is expected tonight and tomorrow. The Towpath has been resurfaced from MP 138 to 150 and is much improved from earlier years. From MP 150 to the Paw Paw Tunnel the trail still needs work but some has begun near the Tunnel.

Although it drizzled much of the day yesterday, the GAP from Cumberland to Meyersdale was damp but firm as expected and is usual.

As expected with no rain, the GAP Trail from Meyersdale on into Pittsburgh is dry. Enjoy your trip. Bring some warm clothes for the early morning and late day chill, especially at the higher elevations.
