The following is copied and pasted from the Great Allegheny Passage / C&O Canal Enthusiasts Facebook page. I will try to do the same for information about shuttles:

"A landslide near mile marker 88 on the afternoon of Saturday, October 17 has forced closure of a segment of the GAP between Ohiopyle and Connellsville, effectively immediately. Please avoid this section of the Great Allegheny Passage.

"Media sources including WTAE and Triblive are reporting that this incident has resulted in the death of one bicyclist and injuries to another. Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are investigating. This is an active situation with details unfolding. Visit www.gaptrail.org for updates.

"Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of the bicyclist who lost her life, and we extend our hope for recovery to the bicyclist who was injured.
We're thankful to the first responders and agencies assisting with this incident.

"If you are planning a thru-trip, please arrange a shuttle between Ohiopyle and Connellsville with one of these shuttle services:

It is a very sad day on the GAP trail. According to the late news on KDKA (CBS) in Pittsburgh, the deceased bicyclists was a 76 year old woman from Florida. Please keep her, her family, friends and loved ones in your prayers, as well as the injured person.

If you use facebook and want exact information about the location of the closure, go to the facebook page I mentioned above, there is a lot of helpful information there.
