Bears and other. critters

I know I'll encounter possums, raccoons, snakes, deer, and all other sorts of creatures, even maybe a skunk or two.

How bout bears? Are they an issue on the C&O canal?

I'm hiking from Cumberland to Harper's Ferry in June.
