A quaint, friendly college town with plenty of restaurants. Well worth the shlep up the switchback and hill. You may be able to find a shortcut through the campus to avoid the top of the hill, which is not biker friendly.

If instead of turning left and going down to the main street, you turn right, it isn't far to a Food Lion super market which was a good place to resupply on my hike.
