The Third Base Tavern is not listed, just across the street from the Candle Light Inn, is your typical hometown bar and watering hole. There is a unique C&O Canal tradition there. If you go in and tell the bar keep that you’re a “trail virgin”, you’ll be treated to a free shot of “rocket fuel” and an opportunity to sign your name on one of the many ceiling tiles.
