Was wondering what experience anyone has had with cell coverage along the trail. Any large gaps where there will be no coverage? Thanks!

Going east on the C&O there is no cell phone service from Oldtown to several miles east of the Paw Paw tunnel, all total 15+ miles or so. :(

Not good for the most part any where except near the larger trail heads. There is a booster at the Rockwood Trailhead on the GAP.

It depends somewhat on your carrier, but I got poor coverage with AT&T along most of the GAP and C&O. We quickly learned to put our phones in "airplane mode" to avoid running down the batteries. We were able to get coverage, however, at most towns along the route.
